Re: Winter Ball « Result #1 on May 11, 2007, 12:21pm »
Adaira would have skipped into the room if it weren't for the gown she was wearing. Her mother had insisted she wears the most beautiful of her gowns, and thus the Fairy had to comply, even though she would have longed to have another type of dress. But anyway. She carefully arranged the sleeves and looked across the room through her mask. With a grin she noticed Ainé and half flew - half waltzed to her. "Hey there!" she greeted her with a grin, "Looking good tonight, aren't we? Who are you trying to catch this time?" She winked at her friend and grinned some more. She was a tease, but as far as she knew, Ainé liked hr down-to-earth character, so she didn't want to stop.

Morag stepped gracefully into the throne room, her elaborate mask held to her face with fingers tapering to delicately manicured nails. She glanced around and smiled with excitement. Oh how she did love a party! The music, the dancing, the chatter, the food... Always the perfect way to lighten her mood.

Adaira smiled towards Morag. "Indeed I should get dressed...it was a very pleasant talk, ma'am, I enjoyed it. And I hope I was not intruding on anything." The young Fairy curtsied and flapped her wings once before taking off into the skies. She really needed to get ready for the Ball. And, should Grogan come along, she knew just what she'd do to him. She might have promised to behave, but she was certain the Queen wouldn't mind if she taught her nephew a lesson he wouldn't soon forget.
Morag knew just what he liked doing when he visited the leprachauns, but she was much too polite (social circles-wise, that is) to let on. He was so dreadfully arrogant! "Well, I must be getting along. I have to get dressed for the masque! As should you!" She raised an eyebrow in Adaira's direction.
Adaira had to bite her lip not to laugh. Oh, she knew -exactly- what Grogan found so fascinating about Leprechauns. He liked to taunt them, lure them out, and then he wretsled with them, testing his strength, and his courage. Arogant Fairy. "I agree, it is so. And he should have left word, if nothing else!" the young Fairy's comments were according to what the Queen probably wished to hear, since Adaira couldn't really admit that she knew what Grogan was probably doing because she tended to do something similar herself!
"Oh, Adaira, you're sweet. And, no, as a matter of fact, there has been no word from the Count. I was wondering about that myself. He should have at least let us know he was going to be late in returning home from the Leprachauns..." She bit her lip, as she tried to think of where Count Grogan possibly could have disappeard to now. "I really don't see what he finds so fascinating in visiting them so often. It's truly perplexing, don't you agree?"
Adaira smiled towards Morag. "Oh yes, definitely! I think it's because of the good influences we have...especially from our Queen..." The young fairy beamed shyly up at Morag; Adaira was a prankster, yes, but she still loved the Royal family, and her kin, more than anything. A thought crossed her mind. "My lady, has there been any news from count Grogan? I heard he'd left the palace a while ago..and am curious if he went to 'visit' the Leprechauns again." Right, so she did like Grogan. A bit. But she wanted to know if he'd be on the Ball. Maybe then she'd be able to return a certain favour she owed him...

The queen's wings fluttered gracefully. "I'm glad to hear it. I can't wait to see everyone's costumes! They always get more and more extravagant each year, don't you think?" She smiled and looked over her shoulder at the sprawling metropolis below. What a lovely sight... So much nicer than those dreadfully dull hills she had grown up seeing every day.
